He explained a female horse was about to have possibly her 20th win in a row. This was history. For one she was a Mayer and had the equestrian tack to prove it. With a pink show halter and a focused jockey the two marched onto the track and received a huge ovation. She had won 19 races in a row and was favored to win again. Genetically she was a freak. Her heart was larger than normal, her frame covered in muscle and she had a knack for turning on the after burners around the last turn.

The gates opened and she took last place by a lot. I figured it was over before it started but my friend was still confident. It was easy to make out her pink equestrian tack in the crowd as she made a move with less than half the track remaining. 50 yards left and she was a horse length behind first. In a photo finish she lost by a single stride.

The past couple of days have been record breaking because of the heat. Tuesday was in the high eighties and then yesterday was over 90 degrees. It is hard for me to believe we are into the first week of November. I went hiking on Tuesday and saw a couple of people on horseback riding trails off in the distance. First thing that came to mind was those ponies must be hotter than I was because of all their equestrian tack. I was in loose shorts and tee shirt. The horses had on show halters and other items I couldn’t make out from the distance. Today might be just as hot.

If I owned a horse, I’d be keeping him indoors this week. It is like a freak heat wave is rolling though Southern California before it becomes winter. Mother Nature just keeps pushing off the cold end of the year weather. It is sort of annoying. Either way wearing or applying equestrian tack in this heat is not the best idea.

This time of the year is wonderful because so much of it is based around family. Thanksgiving is up next on the 2010 calendar. A table full of family and friends all drooling over the feast is hard to not get excited about. Thanksgiving will come before anyone is ready. That is how Halloween went for me. It does not seem like more than a week ago we were moving into the first of October. Soon it will be December. My neighborhood puts on a great holiday fair come December. All the restaurants decorate, shops offer passersby all sorts of deals, an orchestra sets up in the park and the equestrian center shuttles people around in carriage rides. The horses are always decked out in show halters and spirited horse tack.

I’ve never taken a ride around the block but this year it seems like the right thing to do. The horse ride weaves through the surrounding neighborhoods where everyone’s house is strung with lights. It should really be something. Holiday horse halters are just around the corner.

This coming December we are planning on heading down there for about a week to get some horse riding in, and she has been looking for some new designer horse halters online. I know that she really wants to get her hands on some really great looking designer horse halters to truly compliment the fine mares that she has boarded down there, which she only gets to see and ride a few times per year due to the distance between where we live in Arizona and where her parents live in Dallas. We were hanging out today and watching TV, and I grabbed the laptop off the desk in my bedroom and told her that we should shop around online for some designer horse halters that she would really like. Seeing as we both just got paid for the past two weeks, she agreed that some new designer horse halters were in the budget. So far we have bookmarked several great pages on online stores with some magnificent designer horse halters to choose from.

My little sister Ashley has always loved horses and as her tenth birthday drew closer, I started to realize that a grown up piece of horse tack jewelry would be the perfect birthday gift for her. I was not sure how to go about shopping for her, but a good friend of mine told me to check out an online superstore called JewelryTack Room . I decided to take her advice and I went online to check it out. Within minutes, I came across a beautiful 14 karat gold, silver and diamond horse take bracelet. I was so excited that I had found such a perfect gift for her and I was hoping that it would arrive in time for her big party. To my delight, her horse tack jewelry arrived a few days before the party and I had it wrapped and ready to go. When the day of her party arrived, I was so excited and I could not wait to see her face when she opened her gift. When she finally got to opening her gifts, I made sure that mine was one of the first ones that she opened. The delight on her face as she saw her horse tack jewelry was priceless. She absolutely loved it and she put it on right away! Later, our mom told me that she even went to bed with her horse tack jewelry on.

Since that day, I have not seen my sister without her having the horse tack jewelry on. I am so glad that I went online to buy my little sister horse tack jewelry that made her so happy. Listening to my friends advice was one of the most brilliant things I have done in a while. I saved money, had a fast delivery and purchased a gorgeous, high end horse tack bracelet for my sister's birthday... while staying within budget. Both my little sister and I are incredibly happy with my fantastic purchase. I am a true believer in shopping online, now that I have scored big. My friends and family members were so impressed with my purchase that they have all tried shopping online. I truly believe that this is the smartest way to shop and everyone else agrees. I cannot wait until my next gift giving occasion. I can only imagine what amazing deals there are waiting to be found out there. I am sure that my next purchase will be even better than the last.

I ordered the one online, and when it arrives, I’m going to go spend some time at the farm with Mark.

My grandfather used to live on an acre when I was little and most all of his neighbors owned horses and I remember taking walks with him to look at all of them. Perhaps that is why I fell instantly in love with a pair of silver and diamond horse shoe earrings at my favorite online superstore, Jewelry Tack Room. Not only were they horse tack jewelry, like I love, they were easily the most wearable and classy pair I had ever seen. What was more, I was incredibly pleased with the low price on them. I felt so happy when I placed my order and I really hoped that I would receive my horse tack jewelry before an upcoming horse show in my town. Since I had so much previous experience with shopping online, I knew that I would receive my order pretty swiftly. As I thought, within a few days of ordering my horse tack earrings, they were delivered to my home. In fact they came right in time for the horse show I had been so excited about.

When I got ready for the horse show and put on my new horse tack earrings, I felt fantastic. As my friends and I walked around the show, I had so many handsome men coming up to talk to me and even more girls wanting to know where I had found my gorgeous horse tack earrings. Many of the girls that I told about shopping online could not believe that it was where I had found my earrings. They actually thought that I had them made custom. I am so glad that I have been shopping online for so long and that I found my new favorite horse tack earrings at my favorite online store. I not only find the items that make me feel wonderful and raise my confidence, I also save a great deal of money when I shop. I cannot wait until my next great find and I am just about certain that when I do, it will be at Jewelry Tack Room. My friends have been so impressed with my good luck finding great horse tack jewelry online that most of them have taken up the hobby as well. Now, we all save money while buying the horse tack jewelry of our dreams. We are all sold on shopping online.

This brings a lot of people to the area. Equestrians included. Before moving to Los Angeles I never would have thought this was a big area for horse riding. It is. It doesn’t take a very far drive to run into signs of equestrian tack. There is a riding center within five minutes of where I live. Peppered throughout the city centers are horse trails, riding centers and equestrian tack enthusiasts. Drive north of the city and find ranches of all sizes and shapes. LA is a great place for horse riding because of the weather. When most people start boarding their ponies for the winter months, people here are waking up early in the morning to ride.

I’m looking out the window right now and the sun is shining. The air conditioning just turned off for God’s sakes. Fall is in the air but it is still tee-shirt weather. I also don’t live near the ocean. It is colder there. Equestrian tack is alive and well in Southern California.

Not every farm is the same but the majority I’ve been too house an old pickup used as the mechanical workhouse. It doesn’t have to be a farm either—anywhere with a barn or pasture is usually a good place to find a vintage truck hauling bales of hay, horse tack, feed, conchos, tools and whatever else goes with a horse halter. The great part about these old trucks is no matter how much abuse the owner puts them through they keep running with the occasional tune up and quart of oil. My friend has such a truck. A rusted bed, too many dents to count, long shifter and absolutely no creature comforts, it is still rolling strong with over 250,000 miles. His parents own horse and they once used his now daily driver for horse tack and pasture work. He took it with him after moving out. It gave his dad an excuse to pick up a new truck for their horse halter needs.

My buddy loves it because it gets him where he needs to go, it costs nothing to insure and if anyone hits him it is no big deal. Last time we took the old hunk of metal off-roading he almost tipped it over. Most people would have been scared. He started laughing and wished it would have tipped over for the pictures and adventure of getting it back on four wheels. That is what I like to call faith in a vehicle. The truck saw the most abuse not under stress of hauling horse tack but after my buddy took it off his property.

With his birthday coming up I found the perfect gift for his truck within Jewelry Tack Room at http://www.jewelrytackroom.com/. Like I said my friend’s truck has no form of luxury. The most modern feature is an old CD player he bought online back in high school. The Belkin TuneBase FM plugs into a cigarette lighter which his truck has and then plays MP3 player music through a set FM channel. We will at least be able to really jam out without hearing his CDs skip when bouncing around a rough dirt road. I know how annoying it is burning and buying CDs too. They scratch and there is never enough great music on them to be sustainable for long drives. An Mp3 player is just much easier. His truck went from days with horse tack and conchos to a little bit of 21st century tech with a simple click at an awesome online retailer.

My friend has ridden horses since she was a kid. I saw the pictures in her apartment to prove that. She knows all there is to know about equestrian tack and horse care. This inspired her to make plans for a horse tack store. After running the numbers she found out it would be too large of a risk to open a tangible store with rent, utilities and all that. She now wants to open her horse tack store online. I’ve given her a big thumbs up. At the end of the day many of us would love to be our own boss. The idea of owning something other people find use out of is really inspiring. She has never owned a business before so I loaned her a couple books about becoming an entrepreneur.

It’s better to plan these things out instead of jumping right in. She hopes the store will help supplement her riding career. If I’ve learned one thing about riding horses it’s how expensive it can get. Having the right retailer on your side is really important. Hopefully her horse tack store turns into that place for other people.

I won’t have enough room to pack all of the horse riding gear I need, but they have it all; equestrian tack, show halters, horse tack, conchos, horse halters, and they even have my own customized saddle out there for me as well. The meeting actually turned up at the very last minute, and sadly my wife is unable to accompany me out there this time around. And we were just out there a few weeks ago visiting her parents and enjoying their ranch. However, she is not fretting about it too much, as we are planning to head back to Dallas for the holidays this year to spend a week out there; which should be grand indeed. As for next week, it will be cool to enjoy staying at her parent’s house and not having to pay for a hotel room—and getting to ride some horses in my downtime will be a huge bonus as well.
