Riding horses is great fun. It can even be bordering the line on the idea of an exercise. When I ride I use my legs to squeeze and hold on to the beast. Holding the reins and directing the animal works my arms. Putting on and off the horse tack works my arms as well. While getting in and out of a saddle works my legs.
