horse halter, horse tackHorses are very majestic creatures that live for much longer than the average house pet. It is no wonder the strong bond created between owner and animal. A family friend has a large brown stallion named Kona. Kona is well over 30 years old and trained to boot. After all those years she understands the day to day routine down pat. I’ve learned horses are very smart creatures. Kona has always been mellow. Horse halters are sort of just there for show when someone is leading her around the pasture or tying her up in the stable. So many years of horse tack, riding and conversing with his owner made Kona a fantastic horse.

Last time I visited their house, it was crazy to see how every sound Kona made was interpreted by his owner almost like he was a kid. Heavy breathing and kicking up dust meant he wanted to run in the pasture. A nod towards the trough meant he needed new water. At this point parking Kona with a horse halter was more for show.
