show halter, horse tackA friend is all excited about this Sunday for two reasons. The first is the equestrian show she is competing in locally. Her show halter is ready and coming away with a ribbon is all she has been dreaming about. The second reason is Sunday is also Father’s Day. While I’m sure her family going out for some kind of meal after her morning competition, she really wants to take home a podium spot since her dad will be in the audience. Apparently, he helps her before every show but this one is going to be special because of the holiday. He has supported her riding career since she started. They have bought horse tack, conchos, show halters and saddles needed to make an impression at these types of meets.

I’m not really sure what happens at such competitions. There is a small horse jumping event but I think much of it is trotting around and showcasing the horse. Could be wrong. All I know is that there is a winner and my friend is deadest on winning for her dad.
