horse tack, equestrian tackOne of the best parts about coming home is all those natural outdoor scents lost in a big city. I live in the greater Los Angeles area where a person is more likely to pick up the smell of fuel resonating from countless exhaust pipes sitting in traffic as opposed to bark or natural fertilizer. I spent a solid week back home enjoying what turned out to be a cloudless reprieve from all things work. I left the hustle and bustle for the simpler things in life. For me, there is nothing more relaxing then taking a stroll around a forested network of neighborhood streets marked with wooden fences, horses galloping in pastures and birds flying softly above. The smell of horse tack was definitely in the air back home.

Before leaving, I went to the Jewelry Tack Room for a new set of headphones. If there is one thing I have learned from mastering the art of down time it is that music is a constant. Walking around horse tack and quiet trails is one thing but add music and it is much better. New headphones, the smell of equestrian tack and family helped recharge my batteries.
