Mom called several days ago to inform me that she’d been thinking about Christmas, and wanted to know what we thought about her and dad giving the kids a horse this year. My first reaction was if she was talking about a real horse, and once she said she was my second question was to ask where we would keep it. She assured me that she’d spoken to someone who had a stable and we could keep the horse there. I asked her if there would be a large expense involved and she said that it wouldn’t be too bad. She said that we could get a conchos and a horse halter online for much better prices than locally. I had a feeling that depending on the horse, my daughter my want to start showing it, which would mean a show halter and other goods. I wasn’t against the idea; I just wanted to make sure that we wouldn’t be biting off more than we could chew. After looking online at the prices for a horse halter and other accessories, I saw that they weren’t nearly as bad as I thought, so I gave her the go ahead. I guess now we’ll just wait and see what happens.
