Looking the Part with Conchos |

This past Friday and Saturday, I was in Vegas celebrating a friend’s birthday. There was one distinct difference this time while walking the strip. There was a surplus of people wearing cowboy boots, hats, blue jeans and belts laden with conchos. At first glance, I thought cowboys must really enjoy Sin City but after further investigation and driving by a arena the National Rodeo Championships was taking place it made a lot of sense. Check out the video below to see some of the action that went down in the annual rodeo circuit, which I think culminated in Vegas. I don’t really get the sport of holding onto a bucking bronco or bull for dear life but there is no doubt these cowboys have some stones.
Cowboys take their waistline very seriously. If there isn’t a huge shinning belt buckle then there is a great chance it is laden with handcrafted conchos. I didn’t even know what conchos were until getting into a conversation about why cowboys love adding flair to their belts with some drunken good old boy there for the rodeo while sitting at the bar. He basically said they just look good. That’s a decent enough reason for me. I feel like conchos would be a great gift for any cowboy friend or family members.
